While looking up the word seashore, I found a new word by accident: seashine. According to Merriam-Webster, seashine means “the shine of the sea, especially the light reflected off the sea.”
I’m going to Florida for the first time in a few days, where we hope to enjoy both sunshine and seashine at the seashore. Thinking about going there inspired me to share some of my sea pictures in a blog post with you all. (Plus, I really don’t have time to write a long post this week!)
Except for the pictures where I appear, I shot these photos myself on various trips during the past ten years. All of them are ocean pictures: boats, birds, and people by the sea.

In 2015, for Mom’s 60th birthday, we took a day trip to Cape Henlopen.
You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power,
having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy. ~ King David, Psalm 65:5–8.
